So according to reviews on Logi's website, this only has one usb dongle to connect both devices but is not logitech unifying receiver. If you lose the dongle, you're SOL it seems and you can't get a replacement from them. The M350-looking-mouse should have dongle storage.

This looks like a great combo and a great price for a backup/portable setup.

edit: looks like you're not totally SOL. Quote from a DanielZ regarding this combo and the unifying receiver "As it is not unifying you can run into a big problem if you lose the USB receiver (dongle). It happened to me and it took months until I was able to find a solution, neither the logitech page or blogs supported me, I found the solution in the comments of a youtube video. The solution was to buy a cheaper M185 mouse that uses the same USB receiver that we need. Once we have the dongle we use the Logitech Options or Connect Utility app of the brand, to synchronize it you have to remove a battery from the keyboard and turn off the mouse first. When it asks us to turn on the devices, we turn on the mouse and put the battery simultaneously. If we use Logitech Options, only the keyboard is added first and we give the option to add devices and add the mouse." https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ques...9fd7b613d8

Think this is actually a unifying receiver? I think the newer retail versions of this don't have unifying receiver anymore. The description here says unifying but I've been burned by this before with old product descriptions saying unifying but getting a generic receiver instead. Logitech seems to be moving away from unifying but I still have some old devices that can use them.

Don't think so MK470 has Logitech Unifying receiver support.

Either way the receiver will work for the mouse and keyboard. Unless you plan on using this combo with other devices. the included receiver is sufficient for its use case.

Either returns or liquidation. Logitech will sometimes physically cut the seal so they can't be sold as new.

There's a bunch of reasons. It could have been damaged during shipping (semi accident) and each one had to be opened to inspect for damage. Since insurance paid Logitech some amount, they can not legally resell them as new. (This is just an example)

See if there's a liquidation auction in your city, win a bid on a pallet or two of *might be damaged* products, flip them out on eBay.

theres been a case of serial openers, where someone goes to the back of warehouses with a knife and just starts opening all the boxes. no one knows what his/her motivation is because they haven't been caught yet

Have had this for a couple of years. Had a weird case of the sticky keys for a while.
The mouse is pretty uncomfortable to use for long periods.

The keyboard is pretty sturdy and overall pretty comfortable.
