It's almost 2025, we have controllers with mechanical buttons, hall-effect sticks and triggers for $30. Why pay $$ MS tax for a product that is destined to fail without very intensive use.
I bought a lot of these during bullseyedeals sale of these around $40 each. They will last till new gen of licensed controllers become available.
You may consider this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D8T8QQ9S if you need one now. It is still too expensive as a controller with $50 MS tax.

I loved this controller, and for what it's worth, it was fantastic ... while it worked. I had heard of the previous issues with the bumpers, or the stick drift issues and went ahead and purchased a two year warranty since the controller itself was on sale, and the warranty was relatively cheap. It went a solid 2 years and 3 months (with a decent amount of hours clocked mind you) before the right bumper started acting wonky. I took it apart and attempted the "quickfix" stuff I saw on YouTube which temporarily worked, but within a day or two it would start missing inputs again and just continued to get worse. I would not recommend this given the options out there today. I bought a Vader 4, and it has been great, not as "premium feeling", but cheaper cost and with more premium internals.

It seems like a lot of people love this controller, but it has bumper issues eventually within a year - so 100% get the warranty?

How are the back buttons? The one thing that is hard to beat on the late controller is how good the back paddles are in my opinion.

My bumper on mine is starting to go. It started squeaking first, then missing inputs etc.

Just purchased and got the 4 year warranty from Walmart - Amazon had a 1-2 month delivery estimate 'Usually ships within 1 to 2 months' - Thanks OP!!

This is weird. I've had mine for about 2 years. Not one issue at all. Use it regularly. Buying one for my son. Thanks OP.

I love these controllers so much, but they will likely have stick drift out the box OR they will get it shortly after using it.

After time the rubber grips on the sides will start to peal off. And the LB RB buttons will fail ( not the end of the world if you use the paddles )

Just be warned. I will not buy another elite until a series 3. I've had 2 series 2 controllers, and a series 1. They all have failed from normal use.

I've had this for about a year and have had no problems with it. Very premium feeling. I did take the paddles off because I kept accidentally tapping them and I wasn't used to it (pretty sure you can also just disable their button mapping).

I've had two of these already and both had bumper response issues and lost the L3 and R3 joystick click right after the warranty was up. Super frustrating considering how much these cost.

FWIW, I spent a few months researching the "best pc gaming controller," and despite the many reports of people having back luck with the Series 2, I planned on taking my chances...

That is, until I randomly stumbled upon the FLYDIGI Vader 4 Pro. It's so, so close to being the controller to end all controllers. I absolutely love it. You can adjust joystick tension with rings around each one, swap sticks for different heights (I use a tall one for steering my tractors in FS25) and the 4 face buttons are mechanical.

It feels fantastic to use and it has an app that allows all kinds of customization for whatever you're playing. The battery lasts forever, but the only drawback I've noticed is that there's no way to check remaining battery percentage when using the dongle. Other than that, it's awesome. I got it from amazon with the 3 year warranty. They were just on sale for like $63 on BF/CM, but even at $79, it's a great controller I'd highly recommend.

I just made the switch from the Elite 2 and I agree it's a fantastic value

Gotta love when someone is as obsessive over you are about even the smallest purchases, makes an insane amount of research, and then shares their findings.
