In my mind I thought the pulsar ran quieter but that wasn't necessarily always the case. I think the firman sound is a bit higher so I just hear it more. Both were running in eco mode.
First test was taken standing directly over the generators. Firman 71db pulsar 72db
Next test was from approximately 12ft away. Firman 60db pulsar 62db
Next test was standing above generator under 500w load. Firman 75db pulsar 76db
Next is 500w load from approximately 12 ft. Firman 66db pulsar 64.
Next is 750w load above generator. Firman 79db pulsar 78db
Last test is 750w load from approximately 12ft away. Firman 68db pulsar 66.5db.
So again. Can't verify the accuracy of this test.But that's what my numbers looked like.

As far as the noise. I thought it sounded on the quieter side. But I don't load it very heavy. How heavy of load do you run?
IMO, 65 db is not all that loud for a generator, especially a dual fuel for ~$350.
I was looking at getting a conversion kit for my older 2000/1600 watt inverter I have for around $160, but I can get this brand new one for 2x the price, but stay at the same power level I already have (the 2000/1600 would be around 1800/1400 on propane).

Not sure of what your needs of the generator would be. But if you're using it as an emergency back up, I would be concerned about the low wattage of the one you were thinking about converting to propane. I'm only saying that because with a max of 1400 running watts, You most likely would not be able to power a microwave or small convection oven. With this unit you just barely can...
