Will this work with the LaView NVR system that was on sale for $399 on Newegg two weeks ago? Not sure if you can set up a wireless camera on a POE system.

Are these better than the Foscam C1 as far as reliability/issues?

I have the Foscam C1 and it was working fine until one day it decided not to connect to my network anymore, tried restoring to factory settings and start all over but I could not get past the scanning of the bar code on the back of the camera.

**EDIT** Recent reviews on Amazon seem to be hit or miss. Might just have to cough up the money for Arlo Pro to not have the headaches.

I have a couple 841b (black) cameras and they work pretty well in my experience. The native interface isn't too bad, but I use them with iSpy anyway.

I'm picking up several more now.

If the LaView NVR supports ONVIF then yes it should be compatible. Yes you can use it with a POE system. You will first need to buy a POE injector/splitter which can be purchased on Ebay for a few buck.

I guess I'll bite and see how it turns out before I buy more. I got tired of fiddling with the Foscam and have given up on it, been sitting on a shelf for more than 6 months now.

What sort of grief were you having with your foscams?

It just disconnected after a few months of it working fine and it will not connect back. When trying to "add a new camera" it won't go past that part. I tried resetting the camera to start from scratch like if it had come out of the box and it still won't work. After I scan that QR code on the back of the camera to connect through Foscam app it just starts with a loading bar but then times out.

Paid same price. Camera is pretty awesome...once finally set up. It was pain setting up, wouldn't connect via wifi, had to set up via Ethernet cable. Then after that was very confusing on how to do all the settings, in my opinion it has way too many settings.

After set up through Ethernet you were able to set it somewhere wirelessly correct? The Ethernet was just during the setup?

Correct. After set up I was able to disconnect Ethernet and set camera anywhere. The app showed me the camera , when I tried to view via my mac had many problems, they have different programs so it's hard to determine which one to use and they also have a website you log into to see the camera. The website only works on safari on the mac and I kept getting locked out. It was very frustrating but seems to be working now
