Saw "hybrid", thought maybe electric, at this price not likely. Is there anything hybrid about it?
Hybrid bicycles blend characteristics from more specialized road bikes, touring bikes and mountain bikes.[1] The resulting "hybrid" is a general-purpose bike that can tolerate a wide range of riding conditions and applications. Their stability, comfort and ease of use make them popular with novice cyclists, casual riders, commuters, and children.
Hybrids typically borrow the flat, straight handlebars and upright seating posture of a mountain bike, which many bicyclists find comfortable and intuitive. Hybrids also employ the lighter weight, thinner wheels and smooth tires of road bikes, allowing for greater speed and less exertion when riding on the road. Hybrid bikes often have places to mount racks and bags for transporting belongings, much like a touring bike.
I'd say it's heavy for having no suspension, and being medium frame. My large-frame, full suspension 26" bikes have always been between 29-32lbs. Our cheap 700c road bikes are 18 and 21lbs. That said though, the lower-end/heavier components typically have more meat on them, and will likely be more durable when abused and unmaintained.
Seems like a good deal (Costco policies), if the medium frame works for the rider.
not really a deal. they have them for this price for the last 2 or 3 summers now. I bought one last year when they started marking them down. I think I gave $115 for it. it is ok for the price. Check your freewheel cog on the back wheel. Mine wobbles quite a bit. Typical of cheap made bikes...

What kind of a bike are you looking for? Something comfortable and casual, like a cruiser? More traditional like a mountain bike? Or something to exercise with like a road / hybrid? Essentially, what do you want out of a bicycle? I only ask because I'm recently (like, the last two weeks) getting back into cycling after a 10 year hiatus and am in the process of shopping for an inexpensive bike, so I've become quite familiar with what is on sale at the major vendors.
