Went to my local Best Buy and found an open box Alienware AW17R4-2727SLV that was priced at $972. Apparently this has been discontinued due to the i7-7700HQ version and they have a lot of open boxes (My store had 3, another store close by had 2)

FYI, G-SYNC doesn't work with external monitor. At least with R2 GTX 980m.

When i checked online the store showed 1 open box only at $1260. I went inside willing to pay that price but then they had 3 and priced at $972.
So it would appear that you'll have to find a store that's in stock, then go and see if any are Satisfactory in grade. Online, the outlet site lists none below $1264.
Edit: didn't see the satisfactory. Yeah that's a big catch.
