This was going to be brought up sooner or later but did you check out yupptv? similar offerings for cheaper AND they have a section where you can go back and watch a weeks worth of episodes of your favorite drama with their built in dvr type of option instead of live and forward through commercials. Had it for four years and works great with roku, apple tv, ps3, etc

Could this be start of an "END"? Previously many such providers have provided good service for a while and then collected a lot of money before vanishing into thin air!

Roku might be a ymmv. I was able to ge it from within my account. Look for an annual subscription button.

But yupptv doesn't have I think some channels IN US. Like colors and sony / star ( don't remember). Yupptv tv doesn't have rights for those channels in US.

Edit : Just checked, it's 25 channels package. The biggest 60 channels package is $400.

Just looked up their code. It seems if you have
eligiblePlans=["one-week-promo","monthly"] and
eligibleBasePacks=["arabic-mosaic","hindi-gold","hindi-pack","hindi-premium"]
You may get upsell promo in your account.

Tried to contact Sling CS (which was clueless as always) but they said once you are locked into a plan you cant change it for a year, meaning you cant pick higher tier from the lower tier. Other way around is well known in the industry for not allowing due to business reasons.

Just got the roku express today. FYI, I had Hindi regular but am also receiving free bonus channels that are part of the gold pack.

Yeah, I figured. But honestly, given how they have a virtual monopoly on distribution thru dish and a complete monopoly on online distribution, an annual plan might be good to lock in a price (16.66 for base). I'd lock in for several years at this rate. 16.66 plus no overhead.
