Western Digital Student Discount on all drives (4TB Red $103.99 +shipping)

Western Digital's student web store has 20% discounts or more on ALL their drives. WD Red 4TB normally $129, discounted to $103.99 with student account (requires .edu email address). Shipping was an additional for me.

This discount applies to all drives. The only limitation is you can only order 1 drive at a time, at least with the 4TB I just ordered.

FYI you should see "Student Price" below "Regular Price" on each product. If not, then you need to follow the directions again.
Once logged into your WDC student account > Go to "Products" > "Student Store". Then start browsing products.

8TB/10TB Red is OOS but other options are still available.

This is probably a dumb question, but how do I actually buy this? When I add the product to the cart, it is showing $149.99. Am I supposed to just create an account with my edu email and the discount will be applied after?

Not seeing it. I'm under my edu account, and I'm getting regular price. Is there a promo code for the 20%?

It's confusing AF, but you log into your account on their site. Then go to "Products" > "Student Store". Then start browsing products.

"Please enter your email address and password, then click the "login" button. If you do not have an account, one will be created for you upon your first purchase."

So do I purchase it with my edu and the 20% will automagically be deducted from the 149? Or do i need an account prior to this in order to use the discount?

Same instructions as my comment below. Very unintuitive process...

You need to create your account on their site prior to purchasing. When you create the account, use your .edu email address or you won't be able to get the student discount.

I ordered a 4TB Purple using the WD Student store. I found that I had to create an account using this link http://wdstudentstore.com and once the account was created use that same link to login to the student account after you create your account. Now I did need a student .edu email address so this probably only applies to students with valid .edu emails.

Once you login it's hard to tell how to get to the store but if you click Shop Now on the right of the middle banner showing the 3TB passport for 139.99 it will take you to the store. So even though you don't want the 3TB My Passport click the Shop Now to the right of the picture.

I know it's confusing because I've been checking their site for the past few months. The most foolproof way I've found is this.
Log into your account > Then go to "Products" > "Student Store". Then start browsing products.

All Red sizes except the 8TB shows in-stock for me...

EDIT: Shows in-stock but tried to purchase another 4TB and it does state OOS. Other sizes available though.

Aww, that works too. The hardest part for me in the beginning was trying to figure out how to login to my student account! I could not figure it out from the normal store and finally found the http://wdstudentstore.com that allowed me to login easily. Once logged in you automatically get the 20% discount on products and some products are discounted even further for students. The 4TB Purples were 90$ plus tax / shipping.
