I was able to create a skill and submit it to be published in about two hours yesterday. If you can read a series of directions [github.com] and replace the strings in a javascript array [github.com] with your own content, you too, could create and publish a skill. My skill provided random "Would you rather"-type scenarios when you interact with it. Hope someone else here can take advantage of this deal!

Fully certified. Usually takes 24 hours. If not, they email you what is wrong and how to fix it. Then you resubmit. I would be surprised if they are giving away echo dot for just submitting without being published.

I saw the same thing, but it very clearly states in the terms on that link that it's an Echo Dot device. Probably didn't update it from the last promotion.

Wow, creating skills for Alexa is extremely easy, never knew Alexa development was so straight forward. Might try submitting something meaningful later tonight.

For all of you that are not developers and do not know anything about code the linked tutorial is a good start just do basic search on things you might not know or have questions about.

Word of advice for those of you that do not know anything for web development, if you want to get through the tutorial don't ask too many questions just take everything as a truth and follow it. That way you won't get stuck on concepts.

P.S. Don't be that person that is going to 'hire' someone to get a free dot. Either help the community or don't waste your time.
