aka, 'We're so unsure of the quality of these phones, we're just going to extend the warranty and hope nothing fails in that time'.

I applied and they emailed back:

Thank you for registering for the LG G6 Second Year Promise program. We have received and are currently reviewing your registration request. Registrations will be reviewed in the order in which they are received and you will be notified of your submission status in 5 – 7 business days.

looks they are doing the damage repair for bootloop issue. too many people are staying away from LG because of this. I pulled trigger on LG rebate deal, So 2 years of warranty makes me feel comfortable 😁

Depends how you see it. Could be like we are confident in out quality that we would give 2 years of warranty instead of standard 1 yr.
Anyway, I do realize LG hasn't had great track record. But that was mainly LG G4, which btw I own one and have had no problem *knock on the wood*
At least LG is trying to step up the game. And with LG G6 BOGO and now extended warranty, I definitely feel better. Wouldn't complain and taunt them.

Not even sure why non LG G6 owners or LG haters care to stop by the thread. We LG buyers know your friendly warnings, you aren't sharing anything new.

yes, CC adds additional 1 year to manufacturer's warranty. So hopefully that stays the same. Hopefully!

Something similar must implement Samsung for the s8 and put we are not going to burn it again and we will give you 2 years warranty. Lol

I think that is a good strategy with LG, other company might implement this. And we as consumer we might be happy for that at least they want to do something to keep their customers.

I have a V10 and think it's the best phone ever, but it has been sent twice to LG for boot loop repair. the friendly warning is just that. I will buy a v20 if it goes lower than the current sale price. but​ I will expect it to boot loop also sometime.
