This is the listing I purchased: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221936302683
I ordered 3 online for store pickup last night. I was only able to buy 2 with one transaction, but the guy was willing to sell me all 3, just with separate transactions. I declined and just took 2.
I opened one and removed the SIM card before turning it on.
I then bought an unlock from this listing on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221936302683
I received the unlock code this morning, popped my T-Mobile SIM in and entered the unlock code.
The code worked (said it was "successful") and then asked for the code again. I entered the same code again, but this time is was "unsuccessful". I was worried, but I just closed the box by the "Not Now" button.
The phone complained about a non-Verizon SIM card, but allowed me to make a phone call.
I added the T-Mobile APN and was able to connect to LTE and 2G but not 3G.
I was disappointed that I can't unlock the bootloader using Motorola's site (it says it's not eligible).
Overall, I would recommend this for anyone who wants a great, cheap phone who doesn't mind not rooting or doing custom stuff.
Total: about $42.
