Even at half off, I'd rather get restaurant food. Sure, qdoba, noodles, and panera aren't up to the same standard, but you can get them for ~$15 for 2 without drinks, and the food is made for you.
Chef'd is way more expensive than their competitors for comparable food. and you have been able to get their gift cards half price for a while, like the last promotion where they had buy one get one free gift cards on their website.
for example Mahi Mahi for two is $44, $22 per plate. at cheesecake factory same thing is $21/plate : no dishes no work.
In the middle of no where these services are nice, but in a city with restaurants price is comparable to eating out.

Can you cite more examples rather than just cheesecake factory? like something specifically from blue apron/gobble compared to chef'd? their prices seem comparable to me.

blue apron is expensive too
try hello fresh, and also plated (gotta do membership for cheap meals with plated, but even without still cheaper)

Hello fresh is $10 per serving.. chef'd is actually cheaper with this costco deal, not sure if you realize all the chef prices are effectively cut in half with this deal.
hello fresh has pretty crap portion sizing from the photos on their website too and it just looks like really plain ass food. Chef'd has way way more variety i dont really think its a good comparison at all.
great meals. great price. at half off and no limit - can't beat it. we tried two so far and overall, very happy. The first meal for 4 was smallish (mahi mahi) but delicious. The second one easily fed us twice.
