Seems to be a stellar deal, even better than the last I remember. Wish I could justify jumping on this, but having never heard a pair I'm extremely hesitant. I've spent a good bit on what I thought were better quality cans in the past (M70x, SRH-840), and the sound was great but not the construction. Difficult to tell where the plastic ends and the metal begins.

Adorama has a good return policy. I've returned two or three products (including really expensive headphones) and it was very uncomplicated. They also accept paypal, so you could even have the return shipping costs covered by paypal's "return shipping on us" program (at this price, the return shipping costs including insurance will probably be below $30). Adorama does however subtract a bit for the original shipping costs, but as far as I remember, it was always a really fair amount (less than $20). Totally worth it to be able to try it out at home, if you ask me.
I think the Beyer has a narrower soundstage than the HD650 but the Beyer is easier on my ears for extended listening. Considering the discounted price for the Beyer in this deal, either might be considered a good value for the money. Personally, I like the sound of the Beyer more than the HD650. Unfortunately, the Beyer clamps my head too much. Bottom line: don't value anyone's opinion. Listen before you buy or make sure you can return if you are unhappy.

Couldn't agree more. I am one of those wierdos that prefers the Beyer sound over Senn's. I have had the HD 600s and tried the 650s on numerous occasions through some very high end gear, and they always sounded muddy to me. I always recommend to try as many headphones as possible to see which manufacturer has the house sound you prefer. I like a little bright and detailed, but some others may hate it.
I'm using these headphones right now and you can't say it's better or worse than HD 650s. I think AKT1 sounds great with Chord Mojo but If you have a bright sounding DAC you might be better off with HD650.
I think these headphones worth way more than 525$
