Because it is a gaming laptop and they normally don't come with touch, whether $550 or $1550.

It could make certain types of games really easy to interact with and more immersive. Strategy and top-down tactical RPG's would really benefit if the technology was implemented properly. Pillars of Eternity would be really cool, for example.

They are trying hard to get rid of this model with crappy TN. You can replace it yourself but not a simple swap.

Easily the best price out there on an entry level gaming laptop. This thing will play every game in existence and will max out many older games. That said, I had one of these and got rid of it - screen was awful. You can add an SSD and an IPS screen but then you'd be at $700. For me, lack of Thunderbolt 3 sealed the deal: 1050 is excellent for gaming on the go but eGPU makes things look amazing at home.
