Yep and this is for a BRAND NEW unit, not a refurbished one.

This or the Vitamix? One brand superior than the other?

This is the same type of argument as apple vs android. there are fanboys for each. personally, I have a Vitamix and love it, but this is a STEAL for a new blendtec.

Really, both brands are excellent. Ultimately, buying from Costco is a WIN WIN, because if you don't like what you bought you can return it and buy the other brand.

I missed that last Vitamix FP that had the touchscreen panel. Should I wait for that one to go on sale again? Or this too much a steal to pass?

no need for a touchscreen - just another part that could fail (although both vitamix and blendtec are great about warranties).

If it were ME, I'd buy this one and try it out for a while...and if costco puts a vitamix on a screaming sale between now and black friday I'd probably return the blendtec and get the vitamix if I was unhappy.

Isn't this the normal price? It doesn't show special four day sale at all. I could of sworn I saw this in store for this price last month.

Ok, I know I might be repeating myself, but, let me ask one last time,

'How is this Blendtec model compared to Vitamix 780?'

Not in terms of price specifically (because the last FP deal for Vitamix was 300$ with 5-years warranty on a reconditioned) but in terms of the better models. Maybe even in terms of model to price ratio (Blendtec 3.0 @ 230$ or Vitamix 780 @ 300$) if one didn't care about warranty lengths.

Right, like if one would return a Vitamix 780 for this one. How much of a deal this is compared to Vitamix 780 @ 300$?

Bought Bledtec from Costco and Vitamix 300$ deal for 780 model, both 2-3 weeks back. I personally like Vitamix for the smoothie texture but Blendtec is compact. Mind says Vitamix and heart says Blendtec. Quality vs Compact size under cabinet. Still debating and have one more week to decide.

Do you how much of a deal you got from costco? What was the original price for Blendtec (that is now down to 229$)?

I've finally made the decision to not return my Vitamix 780 for this Blendtec.

I don't mind the size of Vitamix (which is slightly taller with low profile jar than this Blendtec) and the 780 (new) costs around 700+$ while this Blendtec model is 300+$.

Vitamix 780 clearly falls under the higher tier.

I make my kids a frozen fruit smoothie every day for breakfast with my blendtec. It works flawlessly. I'm at 1200 smoothies. My jar broke a few years ago, and they sent me a new one right away, no questions asked. Great deal
