This speaker produces 85db with 1w at 1M. Every double of wattage nets you an extra 3db. Since this speaker handles 80w, it effectively tops out around 106db, which falls short of what is considered "concert level" loudness (115db). For everyday listening, it should be fine though, unless you like to rock out regularly.

Geez, I just picked these speakers up 3 days ago from Fry's for $68/pair using during previous promo! Hmm...does Fry's refund the difference?

Lower sensitivity (db/W) = more power to drive the speakers at the same volume (though could mean better quality). 10 db difference is 10x the power for the same volume.
