Is this a good deal for this router? Are there any other ones better than this one? Thank you.

I have 2 of these routers, r7500V2. They are only different from the r7800 or x4s by only a 2.4 GHz radio chip. I am pretty happy with them, running 3rd party firmware in a WDS system. Depending of what you will need to use it for, this is a very good price for a MIMO AC router which can be used also as a repeater bridge in a 2 devices setup system.

Yes, this is a solid router. I run one with dd-wrt firmware flashed. I have no complaints after using it for 4-5 months.

I have a real noob question here...

Are these routers better than the quantum routers that I have for Fios? What would be the benefit of using this for wifi over the quantum?

Additionally, if I use this router and turn off the wifi radio on the quantum; would I still be able to use the verizon network extender? The extender automatically detects/connects to the quantum router.

For a little context, I just sold my used V1 for $100 here locally.

Thank you for your suggestions. So, are these routers good only if the firmware is flashed? I am still a bit skeptic running third party firmware.

Is this router better than the standard one time warner gives you? I've seen this model before on prime day and I didn't pull the trigger

I bought the slightly better Nighthawk X4S a while back during a lightning deal for $159. This seems like a good deal for the X4. The X4S has been a great router for me. A dual band router like this is a must if you live in a household with multiple devices. All of the router resetting and dropped connections I use to have with the cable provider routers are gone.
