$50 is ridiculous for a case IMO. I wouldn't pay more than $25 and that better be a high quality name brand case.

Is there a difference between an iPhone 7 case and an iPhone 8 case? I thought the 8 was basically a 7s (Same body as 7 with improved hardware).

If this is the "case" then marketing this as an iPhone 8 case is, well, marketing.

Why would they take the on sale price as the original price. So if an 800$ phone goes on sale for 1$ with 2 year contract are they going to say why are you buying a 1$ phone also?
