Google "Moto g4 ghost touch" before buying this phone. I have it, and it is terrible.
I have the same phone for over a year and no issues at all, great phone.

I have this and one or twice a week the phone goes haywire with things being clicked rapidly and automatically. The only way to bring is back to sanity is to somehow force restart which is not easy when the phone is automatically and randomly clicking things on the screen.

For anyone having issues with the phone or wondering if I should buy this:

Go ahead and purchase the phone, if it turns out defective, you can reach out directly to Motorola and they will replace the phone with a new one as long as you tell of the 'Phantom Touch' issue: you can either pay $20 odd to have them ship you the new phone (they will place a hold of $220 I think on your credit card as well), you receive the new phone, swap it out with your old one, and send the old one back. They will take the hold off the card as soon as they receive confirmation from FedEx. Other option is to send the existing phone for repairs which is not practical anyway

Motorola Support I dealt with: (800) 734-5870

I found the link for that as well: https://motorola-global-portal.cu...cp/service
- Click the 'Request a Repair' button
- They will require you to login, either create a Motorola account or use a Google+/Gmail acct to sign in...you might have to click the 'Request a Repair' button again
- Next screen will show the 'Moto G (4TH GEN.) icon, click it
- Next up select carrier, enter IMEI/MEID number
- Rest should be pretty simple, just ensure that you select the 'Replace with a new G4 phone' option (something like that)

FYI - Just ensure they mail the new phone in a special box (due to battery concerns FedEx gave me tough time and I end up buying a new little box for that) that FedEx will accept to send the old one back. The process is pretty good and quite painless, I now have a brand new G4 for my one year old one. I might sell it soon and buy the G5 Plus if it goes on a good sale during BF in November

Same price as the Amazon post.

Did a bit of googling after that Amazon post and it really does seem like the G4 line has a defective design that makes ghost touching very common. I would have purchased through Amazon if not for this issue.

Moto G XT1625 4th Gen. 16GB Smartphone (Unlocked, Black) - $119.99

32GB variant is $130

No tax except NJ and NY. Free Expedited Shipping.

This is a better deal for 16GB for most states than the earlier posted from Amazon since there's no tax. It's much better for the 32GB compared to Amazon's ad version which is the same price ($130) but has tax, ads, locked bootloader etc.

These were going for $100 the past month or two on B&H. Glad I picked one up for my grandmother before they raised the price.

It is real. But Lenovo/Motorola is very good at doing RMA ! They have had a lot of practice with this one.

Had the ghost touching issue. Then it was upgraded to Android 7.0 and it never happened again. Tough to say if I'm just lucky.

On the major downside, Android 7.0 is the last update you'll get for the Moto G4.
