I have a 61" DLP Samsung HL61A750 with a bad chip that needs to be replaced. I know I can probably do it myself, but a repair guy can do it for $350. At home I'm using a Sony Bravia 51" which gets the job done. I was going to repair the Samsung, but I keep seeing 4k deals for under $400 so maybe I'm being stupid repairing it vs. buying a new set. I have a new office and want to impress with a TV/games /Netflix etc. Either way I need to decide on whether nice/big TV goes home with me or I use in the office.
Curious what TV experts think on whether to buy new or repair Samsung.
I figure I was going to throw $350 down regardless so let's put budget at under $500.
Bigger is better and the newest tech is of course preferred if possible. I don't need Smart TV as I have access to apps via gaming console and will have wired ethernet connection as well.
I know this is an odd post, just curious what your thoughts are. Thanks for reading!
