1) Useful for ONVIF spec IP cameras you already have being powered by a PoE switch or AC power adapters.
( Dahua OEM - like Q-see, Lorex, Amcrest,... Hikvision OEM - like LaView )

2) This would probably also work great as a functional decoy NVR system.

Place it in a clear location connected to a display showing security videos, thus allowing potential home invaders to grab this system instead of your better system with a larger HDD.
Add a functional HDD and you'll be set.

Example:
Have a blue iris PC or other NVR recording video streams.
Send lower resolution streams to this unit and keep it in a place connected to a monitor which is easy to find.

To all NEW customers that have never used this companies website, you can save $5.00 off of your first order if you like them on Facebook. You have to make sure that you first create an account and make sure you are logged into that account, and then follow the instructions on their website and you will be able to use the promo code "FBLIKE" to save the $5.00 off this order. Any little bit helps, and it also helps offset that expensive shipping...

Note: These are the steps I followed but YMMV
- Thanks Shojus

Hi Probedude,

No I picked up a far more pricey one.

Nelly's Security has a good reputation, so I would think this would be a decent product.

Pretty good deal if you got Poe switches and extra drives , don't know how the UI is though. Otherwise you might wanna look into something else if you need Poe injectors or other ways of powering up your cameras along with a hard drive .

I have a powered POE Ethernet switch in my basement where my 4 cameras meet. What would I need to do to tie into those cameras with this NVR? Thanks in advance!

Sounds interesting... would these work with Foscam cameras? I have a few, but could never get them to record locally to SD.

I bought the 8 channel one from Nelly's 3 years ago for $90. $40 is a pretty good deal. My only gripe is the crappy engrish documentation, but after 3 years I've pretty much figured everything out. Plus, Nelly's is totally awesome with support if you do run into any issues. I've had great luck with Dahua cameras. I did get a SV3C Full HD 1080P off Amazon to work with it as well, but I don't think the motion detection worked with it.

I have some reolink and foscam cameras. Reolink are Poe and tied into my network. I can access them via tinycam app on Android. I have a few foscam cameras connected via WiFi and I can access those via tinycam too. I would like to record to disk these feeds. Would this nvr work for that?

this is the reolink model https://reolink.com/product/rlc-410s/

This says a maximum HDD of 4TB, which feels small for 16 channels. One of the reviews on the site mentioned that there's a 2nd SATA port inside. Has anyone either put a larger HDD in there or a second one?
