+1 more who got a $53 refund. No hassle from rep. Had mine installed last week and was surprisingly painless. I scheduled my install for 230pm, they called at 6pm and it was ready. I was charged an extra $30 for 2 relays for door locks and trunk pop on my car. I didn't have to but if I didn't I would have to keep the stock remote and remote start remote on me.

One remote is two way, the other is one way. For those unfamiliar, the two way will provide confirmation that the car has received your request. It has 4 buttons for lock, unlock, trunk and start which is nice. As others have mentioned this unit has a bypass module with it.

This alarm has built in anti-key-grind which is also nice.

A few notes that might be helpful. I asked if they could with up rear defroster. To my surprise they did at no extra cost and added perk is the brain module has a built in tstat, so it won't activate the defrost unless the temperature drops below 35 degrees.

Second, this alarm does not have a programming switch, programming is done with a combination of key and brake input. To do this however, the brain must be unlocked, so ask the rep to leave it unlocked if you want to change settings like remote start run time (how long before it shuts off if key isn't inserted,) and various other options.

Third, my installer forgot to put the manual back in the car with the important programming and usage instructions, so make sure you have that.

Fourth, geeksquad gives a lifetime warranty on the install ONLY if you have the original yellow paper install receipt, but my best accepts duplicates, so recommend taking a picture of it for safe keeping as those "carbon copy" sheets don't hold up well over time.

Fifth, do proper testing of all scenarios before you leave. This one was fine, but my last one has some door lock sequencing issues in certain scenarios that needed rewiring to fix, i.e.
Standard lock/unlock/trunk/remote start operations
Remote start, then check lock unlock
Leave a door or trunk open, lock, the close trunk/door (ensure factory alarm doesn't trip)
Start your car with key, activate remote start, wait ~5 seconds for activation, remove key and ensure car is running
Test anti key grind
Sit in your car, close doors, activate remote start. Deactivate remote start, open door, ensure alarm doesn't activate
Remote start, test lock, unlock, trunk. Deactivate remote start, test lock unlock trunk
Etc etc

If you have a smartkey that prevents door locks with fob inside, ensure this still works when remote starting to prevent keys being locked in. If doors always lock on remote start even when unlocked before, ask your installer to disable the "lock on start" feature.

If your car has "auto headlights" that stay on for a brief period after the car is turned off, remote start your car, then turn it off with the remote. Make sure your lights turn off. Some cars will not turn off auto lights until a door is opened then closed.

I realize this sounds excessive but you would be surprised the unique scenarios you come across and the sequencing of the relays, locks and factory alarm interaction need to be in tune with your car. Once it goes out of sequence it can be very annoying, or even worse put your car in an unusable state. My previous car had a sequencing issue in which under certain scenarios the factory alarm wouldn't disable when activating remote start. This caused not only the alarm to go off, but the engine to continuously crank for 15 seconds 3 times in a row, ultimately killing my starter.

Nowadays the tech is advanced enough to avoid most of these issues, but still worth double checking.

Hope this might be helpful for some.

Bought this a couple weeks ago for $250. It hasn't been installed yet. Any chance they would give a credit for the difference?

How clean of an install is done? I've read horror stories in the past.

I think yes, someone posted in another post that they got the refund even though the SKU is different.

They install this on manual transmission vehicles?

"Manual transmission vehicles may require additional parts or labor costing $70–$120."

I wish they would just have a deal for Keyless entry alarms. My cars remotes are dying.

Looks like the "Blade AL" in the picture is a bypass module, so I'll assume I'm covered.

I've been waiting for a deal on this after I missed the first one. THANKS FOR RE-POSTING OP!!!
