This impact wrench delivers 400 ft./lbs. of torque and has 4-speed settings. It also features grip light technology that engages the LED light simply by holding the tool, innovative hex grip for maximum comfort and a die-cast gear box. This also comes with Ridgid's lifetime service agreement

An Impact WRENCH is not the same as an Impact DRIVER. Impact drivers are typically for driving screws and lags, an impact wrench would be more suitable for removing tough lug nuts from a car.
It looks like we are receiving the wrong charger than what is pictured or described in this kit.

Pictured charger is the R840095 Dual Chemistry Battery Charger but we are receiving the slower charging R86092. A few of us have contacted Ridgid.com and I am waiting on a response from them about sending the charger pictured and described.I think everyone should contact Ridgid to fix this mistake, the pictured charger is better.

Also we didn't get a soft bag that is typical on most Ridgid kits so that's unusual. Package was not sent in a retail box but a cardboard box instead if that matters for gift giving. Otherwise this is a nice step up from the X4 model and a good price that should be picked up asap because the X4 kit was sold out for months this year when I was about to purchase it.

if you have to ask you dont need the milwaukee.

when are you ever going to need over 400ftlbs? that's enough to do pretty much everything including torquing/untorquing axle nuts and crank pulleys.

the rigid is also nearly half the weight and much smaller than the red one.

dudes post might as well suggest you buy a canon 5dmk4 to take selfies

also, dont buy the batteries by themselves. the LSA only applies to batteries purchased with a tool.
The "Tool Boss" is a complete idiot. First of all, in his tests he uses impact drivers on lug nuts and impact wrenches for driving lags. Who the hell does that? What a tool.

Then he hampers the Ridgid by using a deep socket and holding it an angle to the bolt head. The fool.

And the speed of driving a lag is immaterial to the typical use of an impact wrench, which is to break stubborn fasteners free. Utter dodo head.

And if all that isn't enough, the video is comparing a brushless top end Milwaukee to an old brushed Ridgid.
This is a no brainer...

What many people do NOT realize is Rigid's Lifetime Service Agreement in incomparable to all other companies...

I have purchased and used all of the best and the worst! Dewalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, Hitachi, Makita, and the list goes on and on and on...

Consider this: I went through 8 Dewalt batteries in 5 years while using their awesome combo pack, at nearly $100 per battery. So, do the math...I was out $800 due to batteries wearing out or breaking. And yet my Dewalt Combo pack tools all still work perfectly!

Entered the Rigid world 5 years ago. I have replaced 5 batteries in 5 years. My cost? ZERO! So that is free replacement, free shipping, and they did it dang fast.

I simply look no where else anymore when purchasing battery operated power tools.

And you would do well to do the same!

If you are a newbie to tools, make sure you have an impact driver before you have one of these. An impact driver will have WAY more uses for most people than this tool. Now then, if you deal with carriage bolts, structural screws, lug nuts, or anything with bolts and nuts really and need this level of torque, then yes. Even then, most things around the house the impact driver will be more than adequate.

While there are projects around the house where this would be great. I assume you are looking for a drill. This has more applications in automotive. It's for nuts and bolts.

Been meaning to get the 2/$99 pack of 4.0 mAh batteries, but now I see this. I mainly use my standard impact, but this would be nice for rotating tires and the occasional stubborn nut.

Anyone have this? I'm only in to Ridgid with the impact/drill set, and see the M18 Fuel has 3x the torque, although costlier. Right now would be the time to jump ship and go Milwaukee instead of Ridgid.

Trying to decide if I should buy or not.....

Let me talk you out of this. You should NOT buy. Go for Milwaukee! Why? Because you either go big or go home. Big Grin

Just kidding but I do have both Rigid and Milwaukee, as well as a few of Ryobi tools and Dewalts ecosystem in my house. For impact wrench specifically I advise you stay with Milwaukee. Cost-wise this Ridgid is quite a good deal and 400 ft lbs can do most of the normal jobs but if you are like me, buy the best and you wont ever turn your head back regretting. To be honest, do a quick search on ebay, get a new(other), good condition-preowned, or even refurbished Milwaukee 2763-20, it should last nearly as long as you need it and you wont pay much of a difference since their new model just released.

I do love Ridgid tools but again, for an impact wrench, It should(Must) be Milwaukee!! Smilie It is trusted by so many technician and professional mechanics !!

Since I'm $150 in with the combo Ridgid set, would you suggest jumping on an M18 when they go on sale? I like the Ridgid LSA, but hope to never use it. I'm a PM, so I mostly use these around the house, with minimal use of my actual tools when I do work related junk.
