You can get Adobe CC for $27 per month (for the first year) vs $49 if you attempt to purchase the student version and accept the special deal when they ask you to prove you're a current student.

What do you mean? Students only have to pay $20 monthly anyway.
I think he means you go through the process of signing up as a student/teacher, but then when you are asked to verify your student/teacher status, you decline and are given an offer to buy the non-student version for $27/month instead of $49/month.

I signed up for the student deal for my daughter 2 years ago. I was under the impression that it would continue to be billed at $20/month so long as she was a student. I don't believe we ever received any sort of notification email asking to reverify her student status and last year they charged us about $360 for another annual plan (about $30/month). I totally missed that.

Then, last month they charged us about $480 ($40/month) for renewal. I get on chat with them and they tell me that the $20/month student rate was only good for the first year, and then it changes to $30/month. That still didn't explain the $480/year they charged me.

Anyway, they've supposedly refunded me the $480 charge and I re-signed up for the student plan at $20/month (which looks like it isn't a 1-year pre-pay). It's odd that there seem to be two different student plans - one monthly $20/month plan and one annual pre-pay plan, with the latter having fine print which states that you'll be switched to a $360/year ($30/month) plan after the 1st year. The $20/month plan has no such fine print.

Any more details? At what point do you see the offer?
