- The keys on the II are "mem-chanical," whereas the keys on the 3 are membrane.
- The II's men-chanical keys imitate mechanical keyboard keys, which many gamers prefer. The downside is that both mechanical and mem-chanical keys are loud and clicky.
- The 3's keys are membrane, and therefore, are quiet.
- The II keyboards were released in three color variants: blue, red, and green, which meant you had to select one color to buy and you'd be stuck with it. With the 3, there is only one keyboard, and you can adjust it on-the-fly to 7 different colors.
- The II keyboard has a "scroll lock issue," in that if the Scroll Lock key is on, the backlights are on, and if the Scroll Lock key is off, the backlights are off. This issue has been fixed in the 3 keyboard.

I inquired with Cooler Master by calling them a couple days ago, and was told that the Devastator 3 is as quiet as other membrane keyboards, and its sound is appropriate for office usage, unlike the Devastator II.
