I do really like this mic however it is quite heavy and if you plan on streaming it is definitely going to pick up any mechanical keyboard. Even when I use a Noise Gate you can still hear the mouse clicking and keyboard clicking when I am talking. If you set the gate high enough you cannot hear the clicks of the keyboard and mouse by themselves but when you start talking it picks up very noticeably.
Has anyone used this with a pair of open back headphones such as the Sennheiser HD650? I'm curious if I will have issues if I grabbed this. I really don't want to go the mod mic route but will have to if it becomes an issue.
I have the massdrop 650's and this yeti mic, I do not have any issues with mic picking up any sounds from the headphones. I have the mic about 1 foot away with the adjustable boom arm.
You should be able to get similar results by playing with the gains and sensitivity.

Thanks for the insight. On a side note what boom arm are you using?

Modmic was horrible in my experience for pick up, I sold it after shelving it. This with HD650s is awesome, that's my setup (with the Topping amp/dac stack).

I use hd558s and all you have to do is adjust the pick up on the yeti. It is notorious for picking up literally everything but most of the time you can adjust the range at which something will pick up noise.
Is this a good deal? I'm using a $5 Zalman right now and I know it sounds like shit. Been looking for a good mic and this one comes with AC which I probably would play..
The yeti is a good usb mic. But not that good. I returned mine to best buy after comparing it side by side with the Fifine K669 and not being able to tell any discernable differences. The K669 doesn't have a mute button, headphone pass through, or the various polarity settings like this mic does. But if you want great audio at 1/4 the price, and plan to only use it for game chats or game streaming, the Fifine is a much better deal. Either one is going to be inferior to a proper XLR mic using an interface.
