Both of those devices use hdmi so you'd need to either get an adapter or swap the cable when switching devices. Outside of that, it should work fine.

I have this monitor, brought it 2 years ago from newegg when it cost $100. IPS display is better than the typical sub $100 non IPS monitor. I also found gaming better and more fluid than my old non IPS monitor. Speakers are weak as they are only 1W and sounds kind of tinny, but it works and sound can only come from hdmi. Can be VESA mounted and has VGA, DVI and hdmi connection.

Bigger monitor I guess?

Not all ips are created equal, I've found some of these cheaper models use older ips tech, worse viewing angles than advertised, color uniformity, backlight bleed, clarity. Still probably better than cheap TN, but IPS is not "IPS". Cheap IPS like that model or perhaps this one are still beaten easily by several years old mid range dell monitors. Not a small difference, you can stand up and notice one monitor dimming severely more than the other, just a simple test.

Whats the huge box behind the monitor? I expect IPS to be super slim.

edit: Comparing the LG one (https://slickdeals.net/f/10862431-newegg-via-ebay-lg-23mp48hq-p-23-fhd-1080p-75hz-ips-led-monitor-89-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch) to this one, it looks like LG has a better display but this one is VESA-mountable and DVI port.
