I want the 32 wet. Been waiting FOREVER for a sale.
with the dry blender, it's for nuts and the blade is different, points up to keep the nuts or whatever from packing into the bottom of the container. If you've tried to use the regular container to blend and process nuts, you know that it all goes to the bottom. Like if you are making hummus.....
I bought this from qvc years ago and got a wrench to remove the blade. I swapped out the wet blade on my large 64 oz container with this one since I prefer a smaller container.
The wet/dry containers are exactly the same except the blades which you will see a letter etched on it saying W or D designating wet or dry use.

I can't tell either, but on the vitamix site, they only have one dry container available and that says it's for all C and G series. But again, who knows if this is an older model or something.

Just bought a Vitamix 5300... can I use this with it? And what the heck is the difference between a dry and wet container? I thought I could throw whatever I want into the Vitamix.

S u can use it...
Advantages :
1. It is small jar for small quantity
2. Basically not much difference except for the jar resistance to withstand scratches ..but with what I heard, grinding dry ingredients in wet jar leaves scratches in the jar wall..
Thanks ordered one. I assume this will work with the 5300 I just bought which is on the way from Vitamix.com. The amazon listing just says it is not compatible with Ascent model. fyi, Camel says lowest it's been on Amazon is $80.

Actually the blades are shaped differently from what I know. I think they are angled in the opposite direction.

I had the same question. I called Vitamix. They have and have had only one 32 onces Dry Container. It should be the same listed in Vitamix website.
