2:00pm PST 11/24 - I was just able to order this from my phone. I came to my computer to post a new thread but when I checked from my browser it shows as Out of Stock. Not sure what happened but you may want to keep checking through the weekend on this one.

Some utility companies offer a rebate if you install a smart thermostat. Ecobee has a rebate finder: https://www.ecobee.com/rebates/

Compatible with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, SmartThings and Wink.

Official policy is within 30 days but I've seen them do it farther out than that.

Batteries.

Snark answer deleted since it doesn't add anything, but it did take every fiber of my willpower.

Nice find...bought this 10/22. On the phone with Costco now, they are refunding the $30 difference. Huge rep!

Submitted my PM request online. Bought 11/2, but I used a $25 off $250 coupon, so I don't know how that affects it. Never done this before, but 30 days price adjustment is really nice. Figured it was just 14 days like most retailers. Either way, nice find!

Search slickdeals. Don't know if they're still valid, but people who got some at their store were sharing online.

I'm not sure about the ecobee3, but the Eobee 4 comes with a "Power Extender Kit" which allows you to run a C wire to your furnace and then run the normal wire to your thermostart (3 wires to thermostat - 4 wires to furnace). Even if you don't have a c-wire on your furnace controller, you may have a C wire running to your AC that you can connect to.
FWIW: Just installed mine using that method.

They measure the temperature of the room that they are used in. This allows the ecobee to use the temperatures for adjust the temp settings if your want. We use our bedroom and our daughter's bedroom temps to provide feedback to the main ecobee unit for the temp settings get at night since there is a temp differential on the first and second floor of our house. They also sense motion in the room.

Ecobee 3 does too .. See below from costco site
What's in the box - ecobee3 thermostat, 3 room sensors with detachable stand, power extender kit, 2 trim plates (small and large), quick start guide, installation guide with Wiring Labels, mounting screws and drywall plugs, double-sided adhesives

How are the room sensors powered? Do they require batteries?
