ah the wonderful world of IoT crap that's going mainstream
because what you've been missing from your life is having your dumb devices connected to wifi so you can turn them on/off

and it pairs excellently with the always-on listening device that you've paid to put in your home
because everything in your home needs to be connected to the internet and sending all your data to the cloud, all the time.
