Here you get for $69 (or less/test if you purchase more...):
AncestryDNA database (largest, though not as professional tool as 23andMe)
GEDMATCH
FTDNA
MYHERITAGE
PROMETHEASE health reports which are superior to 23andMe ($5)
On the 23andMe deal you get for $99:
23andMe database (large, better tools)
GEDMATCH
FTDNA
MYHERITAGE
23andMe health reports. which are pretty gimmicky, high-level information "for dummies-style"
So you're paying at least $25 more in the 23andMe deal for the 23andMe health reports vs. promethease (or $30 more if you want to add Promethease as well).
Now, if you are serious about genealogy and want to maximize your matches, you should buy both of these deals to get into AncestryDNA & 23andMe's databases. But if you only want one, or just are more curious about your own ancestry without matching cousins, go the AncestryDNA route and upload free to the other sites.

Thanks for the info. In comparison, how do these compare to the MyHeritage DNA test that's currently on sale for $49?

DNA testing, from what I've seen from other people's experiences is nothing short of a palm reading.
