Cox is offering 40% off your Cox Cable bill - for one year - if you're thinking about switching or have already cancelled your service. All you have to do is call the number listed in the link below.

It worked for me. I was thinking about switching to Frontier and was able to upgrade my internet speed, from 15mbps to 50, and lower my monthly bill from $53 to $48. Not bad considering 50mbps is normally $77. This is still overpaying compared to countries like Germany, France, UK etc. who only pay about $30 for 60mbps, but I'll still take 40%off.

Ideally it would be best if you guys stagger your calls so Cox doesn't catch on and cancel the offer, but that's not going to happen, so bombard away!

Cox seems to have deactivated the number, probably due to the overwhelming number of calls. Thanks to alopez18 for recommending this alternative:

"Call this number and ask to be transfered to loyalty department - -

Sorry, cox. I called and you didn't budge on your $69.99 price. I even tried the "loyalty" department. I'm switching to fios. Cox must be losing users left and right.
It worked!! I indeed saved 40%: my internet-only bill went down from $79.99 to $47.99! The rep said the new lower rate will be good for 12 months and they will prorate the current bill. The 12-months is not a contract term; I can still cancel anytime. Good deal!

OP, thank you!!
I just talked to my wife. She said Cox retention rates have been in the tank big time and they were told do whatever it takes. This initiative was put in place about 7 days ago.

So, if this holds true tons of you should be saving some $.

Oh my goodness....your post makes me happy I negotiated 150mbps for $59 a month for 2 years. I heard their rates rose...but dang!!!!!

Cox is silly for that retail price. $77 made me stop scrolling through threads

So what - call in and say I'm thinking about switching services and they'll give me the 40% discount?

Edit: Should've clicked the link Smilie Call scheduled. Thanks!

Yeah I had a Comcast guy tell me he used to work for Verizon and that he was getting 1GB speeds for what I was paying in Florida for 75mbps.

The boy in me whimpered in jealousy.

Oh and what the hell I pay more for less on comcast.
