If you see this phone " out of stock", I recommend you keep checking. It has been going in and out of stock regularly .

... cost comes down to $125 if you buy 2 phones and put them on the unlimited 2-line plan for $80 and are eligible for the AARP discount of $20 per phone.

I have requested for unlock through chat yesterday, was told that will get text confirmation when it does but did not get anything, just chatted again 30mins ago and was told that it's been unlocked. Popped in T-mobile SIM, iPhone SE flashed back through activation screen, couple of seconds later asked for my apple id to enter then whola I can see t-mobile signal.

$99.99 + Tax + $55 UNLM 2 Plan = $162.74

Try out cricket Wireless service too. One big plus with cricket service is you can do "call forwarding ", which is not allow on metropcs.

iPhone Wi-Fi Calling!

iPhones are able to activate Wi-Fi Calling

An iOS software update released in December 2017 will allow iPhone customers to use wi-fi calling.

Update iOS to 11.2 first so it can get carrier settings

clicked Settings>General>About, immediatly got a pop-up that a Cricket update was available. Entered in 911 address, then reset, and works perfectly.

for existing customers, this should be doable.

1. buy a tmobile prepaid starter sim for $10.
2. use the starter sim number to satisfy the transfer to buy phone for $99.99 + $25 plan.
3. don't renew the new cricket account, use the phone with existing cricket service account/plan.
total should be $135 and can unlock after 6 months.

Technically, it's with new activation and port in.

It's $199 if you don't port in a number.
Does require add month service.

Not a bad deal for someone who is actually moving to Cricket.

For AARP members, there's also a $20 online discount or $20 Cricket store mail in rebate on smartphone purchases with new activation or upgrade (once every two years per line).

Not sure this qualifies for unlock with unlimited plan, either. If you click details specific to this device, it includes the line "Phone may be restricted to Cricket svc during first 6 months after activation."

But it says "may be restricted," so unclear...

Yeah, Cricket is not good at giving existing customers deals on devices. And now they're killing their rewards program too!
