So, if a great deal was missed on BF, I think some said come January, TVs prices will drop low again like BF to get new models in. If not sooner, around Christmas.
Yes and no. Many of the doorbuster TV's that you see in BF are weird models that only sells in that store. IE, Best Buy's Sharp LC-50LBU591U, Walmart's Sharp LC-55P6000U, and Target's Westinghouse WE55UDT108 are only sold exclusively in their stores. The retailer and the manufacturer probably made a deal to make these "special" models and try to sell it as cheap as possible. Clearly, if you want the best bang for your buck TV, BF is the way go to.
You might see some prices drop just before the superbowl, but it would not be as good as the doorbusters. Probably by April, the prices would be lowered so they clear inventory for next year, but these deals are harder to find than the BF ones. Higher end models that would not normally be discounted in BF would be sold at this time at the best price and many big box stores would start slashing prices at lower prices.
The third route is to find refurbished TV's and Walmart is famous for selling discounted TV's at that price.
If you don't mind returned TVs, then check after the Super Bowl. People buy the large 50-60 inch TVs for Super Bowl parties and then return them. You might be able to get a cheap open box TV that was probably used only a handful of times.
