Hmm. We haven't had any problems with ours and it's about a year old.

Dick's Sporting Goods employees didn't set up a bike correctly? vomit That can be cured by tightening the two bolts on the stem..

all kids bikes are heavy. Go look at the expensive Trek bikes for kids, they are about 26lbs.

you have to work a little harder to get a decent kids bike. here are some websites 20" bikes that I've bookmarked for when my son is older. They range from 17-21lbs:

https://us.woombikes.com/products...on-product

https://www.stampedebikes.com/col...8339722689

https://www.clearybikes.com/colle...in-3-speed

Note: obviously these are more expensive then what is featured in this thread. I just feel like most people do not consider/know about better options for their kids and they are just resigned to get them a cheap hunk of steel.

those bikes arent comparable! Those are 400$ plus dollar bikes. I would not recommend the average person buying any bike from those links. Especially since kids grow out of bikes quickly at the 4-12 age range.

Can you suggest any kids bike around 20 lbs but less than $200? Thanks!

Only balance bikes! Decent bikes are expensive unfortunately. They do come up (infrequently) used though.

I'm sorry but there is no way I'm spending $480 on a bike for my kid that he'll beat up and grow out of in a year or two 😜

I just received junk mail from Dick's that includes a coupon for $15 off $75 purchase online or in store. Not sure if it would work with this but might be worth a shot.

Unfortunately no. Nowadays a "Dicks" exclusive brand made in China.
