Cricket Wireless - Wifi Calling on select devices

Yesterday I saw a "Carrier settings update" on my iPhone 7 Plus (Cricket Wireless) so thought of checking if "Wi-Fi calling" is enabled and there it goes. Who ever has been waiting for wifi calling on cricket take a look at the settings and see if it got enabled yesterday.

Applause

Confirmed with Rep on chat.

"
LG X charge (with software update)
LG Escape 3 (with software update)
Apple iPhone Wi-Fi Calling! An iOS software update released in December 2017 will allow iPhone customers to use wi-fi calling.

As long as any iPhone customer has the latest software they will be eligible.

On 12/9/2017 iPhones will be able to activate Wi-Fi Calling!"

From other Sder:
This is from Cricket this morning - apparently they have no clue how or when WIFI calling is going to work (consistently) on non-cricket iPhones...

Pedro N: Please keep in mind that Wi fi calling is not guaranteed yet on BYODs (non-Cricket phones).
Pedro N: We hope we get an update soon for BYODs

Don't most cricket customers have unlimited calling anyway? Don't mean to TC but I don't see the advantage in wifi calling. Cellular should always sound better IMO.

My in-laws have really crappy coverage at their house. It would really help them to have WiFi calling.

I'm just hoping I can finally receive a call in my basement office, frustrating having to go upstairs to make a call. Wifi calling just might be enough to keep me with Cricket. Does this work with any unlocked iphone or just iphones purchased from Cricket, because I don't see a place to turn on wifi calling on my unlocked AT&T iphone?

Fair point. I guess you could also use it if you're travelling outside North America if your hotel has wifi.

Saw this about a month ago and was happy to hear that they now have it, but my old Galaxy S5 doesn't support that feature with the AT&T image on it.

Should be upgrading phones soon and I'm hoping to get one that supports this feature so I can get better signal in my basement.

OK, that was easy, figured it out. Unlocked iphone SE here, clicked Settings>General>About, immediatly got a pop-up that a Cricket update was available. Entered in my 911 address, then reset, and works perfectly. Just made a crystal clear call from the deepest corner of my basement. Playing around with it, as I roam around the house, it reverts from regular Cricket to Cricket Wifi depending if I have more/less than 2 bars of signal strength, slick.

I just switched out from cricket because they didn't have wifi calling and had no or extremely poor coverage at my work. Its unfortunate as I liked their service otherwise but just switched out late november. They should have told me during my many calls and I would have waited it out. Oh Well.

Would WiFi calling work internationally as well with Cricket?

I just upgraded my unlocked iPhone 8 Plus to 11.2 went to settings>about> pop up for carrier update settings shows up version31.1. I was able to add the E911 address to the phone and wifi calling works.

Also I just upgraded my cricket unlimited 2 for four lines from 130 to 100 for 4 lines
