Once I started seriously looking at daycares, I had to admit there wasn't a way to go back and make any amount worthy of leaving her - at least not to my current school district job.

Even the people advertising on craigslist that they watch kids in their homes around here, it's a lot of money. Daycare at the district I work for is $1300 a month for a baby.

Alright Bargoon I'm tired just reading your tasks for the week. I hear ya on the list thing. I am a total list person at work. At home I think I can wing it. I did a list for the baptism and dinner. I was a wreck when we were heading to the church across town (Omaha) with food in the oven. I had visions of coming home to firetrucks in my yard Bigeye

I haven't showered yet but I do have 9 5 gallon cambros lined up and one 2.5 gallon one. We did 100 gallons last year so I need more! No place lined up for mixing yet - waiting for several call backs. Pretty sure we won't have as many because I've had a few nos that I was counting on... so I think I'm going with smaller cups to stretch it farther. Strong

Haven't showered yet.

Worried about Maddy, she's slept almost all day - been awake maybe 3 hours so far. She was congested sounding all weekend - worse when she wakes up. I should call her doctor.

Poor Maddy! If she's not running a temp there's not much they can do for her. Just keep an eye on her and try to keep her head elevated when she sleeps. Also bring her in the bathroom when you shower so she can get some steam. That will help her congestion. her sleeping more than usual is a good thing, her little body is fighting off the germies. hug

Doc said as long as she's not having problems eating or sleeping, she's fine. So, guess she's fine. Just a cold.

Yeah but still sucky for mommy and babeh. I remeber when Mini was about 3 mos old she caught a cold and I had to put her in her carseat in her crib so she could sleep upright.

High Five I know you're happy with your career change!

LJ is straightening out during the day. He is happy and content most of the day fusses when he normally should (tired, dirty, hungry). I can even put him down for a nap fully awake and let him fuss/cry for a minute or two then it's lights out. He still only naps for 45 mins at a time Frown His nights are horrible though. He fusses A LOT overnight. Worse than when he was a newborn. IDK what to do to straighten him out there!

This week LJ started rolling from his tummy to his back. The look on his face when he first did it was priceless. He was all WTF just happened and didn't know if he should laugh or cry. My cheering and applauding and making over him helped him to laugh but that bottom lip kept pouting out, then back to a smile then pouting. laugh out loud

Yay for mommy, at least he is just a bad baby and not colic-y. and 45 minutes is 45 minutes. as long as he is getting his 16 hours in all he is all good. I wonder if the swaddle blanket w/ the velcro closures would help him sleep at night, are you against co-sleeping? The only reason I do it is for MY sleep, since I BF cosleeping is where it is at for at least the begining.

We swaddled with the Miracle Blanket but stopped last week. He was already screwy with night time sleep. And yes we've been co-sleeping since birth. His crib at the foot of our bed basically serves as a changing table. Annoyed DH isn't ready for LJ to sleep on his own. In a way co-sleeping has been great, especially with BFing, but also I think LJ wakes more frequently because he either smells mommy's milk or wants to use me as a pacifier. I've tried to increase his feedings during the day in an effort to get more ounces in when he's awake versus at night time. I seriously Dontknow what to do about this kid. I guess it'll just be a matter of time and his development and maturity. Trust me, I am eternally grateful that his crying most of the day has subsided. Now if we could just get the crying at night under wraps. I'd only heard stories about colicky babies...now I feel the parents' pain.

LJ borrowed her temperment for the day. He was finally a happy baby all day long! Everything is going in his mouth and J thinks he's teething. Get some oral-gel to numb those little gums. Teething rings are on our list for new 'toys'. I don't think he's teething this early, but we know it's around the corner. Oh and if Maddy seems to be in a lot of discomfort you can give her a little tylenol. I remember with Mini we'd put a large spoon in the freezer for a little bit then let her nom on it.

Are you and DH excited for your first Christmas with her? I am kinda over doing it with Mini and only giving LJ a few things since next year he'll be a lot more interactive. One last 'only child' hurrah for Bec's. Teehee

I got these 'little teethers' pills that I've been giving her and they help. I do wonder if they're making her constipated though. She's had issues in that area since we started giving the pills, but it's only been four days now so it's too soon to really tell. I have tylenol, too. If it gets too bad I'll try that. I'll have to pick up orajel for sure.

We have a few teether toys. She likes the real simple ones that go in the freezer but she doesn't really have the hand to mouth coordination to hold it in place.

We are excited for her first Christmas. Didn't buy her much for toys - a couple of things that are 6 month toys so she'll have a couple to grow into. The other ones we got her we just let her play with right away. Teehee Figured she doesn't get the whole gift thing yet and we might as let her use them as long as possible. She'll get plenty of gifts from the grandparents/aunts/uncle too.
