First off, Ontario CA is 53 miles east of LAX and a smaller regional airport, located in Inland Empire. Easy and convenient in and out airport. Secondly, I do not think you'll ever see this airfare out of ONT again.
China Airlines is launching NONSTOP service from Ontario (ONT) to Taipei Taiwan (TPE) for $568. This is an awesome airfare, actually.
Travel availability:
Departs ONT: March 26, 28; April 2-5, 9-12, 16-19, 23-26, 30; May 1-3, 7-10, 14-15
Returns: April 2, 4, 9-12, 16-19, 23-26, 30; May 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, 21-24
Use dates and book it on Expedia [expedia.com]. Bundling hotel with airfare will save money.

P.S. honestly, this one deserves a "share" to your friends in the LA area.

My experience with China Airlines has been always good. Every person i encountered could speak English well, and the services are on par if not better than most western airlines.

Even premium airline alliance members are treated slightly better than dirt. Was personally rejected for business lounge despite valid ticket and status, and went through the most bizarre delay procedure. Food likely contains nutrients, although soduim may be the bulk. Eat before the flight and bring snacks.
Run, pay more for a better carrier. Or, swim. It'll be an altogether more pleasant and less arduous experience
Don't believe the internet random? Check out flyertalk.
Are you sure that what you are talking about is China Airlines? Air China's(Chinese carrier) service is horrid, but China Airlines(Taiwanese carrier) service is multitudes better than US airline companies.

You're likely confused; China airlines highly rated, another "not helpful" tick from me, makes it -8
