Check out your gas prices before buying these 4x fuel points deals. I did these deals for 4 years until the gas prices at my local Kroger were more than 15% more than Costco or the Chevron just a couple miles away. I'm not saying it's a bad deal. Just do your research.

A lot of these same gift cards can be 5% off (or more) everyday using a specific credit card. Do your math on saving any money with fuel points factoring 5% as the baseline.

1,000 points = $1 off per gallon 35 gallons, that's a $35 savings. No gas station is going to be that much higher. Kroger prices around me are the same as the other stations anyway 👍

Use gas buddy. I have 4 Kroger stations near me and they can vary up to 33cents from each other. Your preachin to the choir to most of these SD people.

My Fred Meyer's (owned by Kroger) gas prices are close to Costco prices and better yet, there are usually no lines. That's the part I hate about getting gas at Costco. All gas must be pumped by an attendent so the lines are worse here than other Costcos in other states.

Should put Kroger in title. Kroger's don't exist in several states of the northeast U.S.

Costco gas is top tier. Kroger gas is lower quality. My car is too expensive to take a chance on Kroger gas. It can catch up with you.

Don't believe the hype. I've had good and bad gas from the same station in the same day. They get what gets pumped out of the tanker that delivers to them

So Clark Howard and researchers have it all wrong? Try googling.

Per articles, Kroger gas may be, or may not be, top tier. Depends on the days supplier. Sometimes they get Shell, which is top tier, others days, they get Dirty Barney's pot luck gas.

Not using top tier gas does lead to added engine deposits.

Exactly, it depends on the days supplier....

Every station does it that way. Every drop of gas that comes from the same refinery is all the same. It then gets transported to holding stations near you and sits there till gas stations need it. Your gas station sends a truck to the holding station and delivers it to the station. It doesn't matter what name is on the side of the tanker truck, they pull in right behind one another and get the same fuel

yep. it's fine for most gas stations but at costco, it creates very long lines at the pump.
