I use it fairy often in the Bay Area. Compared to the prices you see at lots it can be 50% off or more. Example, I was in SF around Xmas time, Union Square around 6PM, and SpotHero had a garage listed as $10 rate until 'close'. When we pull up, the price on the garage stated $40 for cars and $60 for 'oversized'. You could tell the attendants were annoyed, and I've only been turned down one time when an attendant said 'we don't use spothero anymore' which was annoying, but got refunded by the company pretty quickly and they were apologetic. In some areas, you may only save say a couple of bucks, or maybe nothing, but generally you'll save probably 20% or more from posted rates.
The 20% off may be lower than the dollars-off coupons out there (although know that 99% of them are referral links posted to coupon sites; you'll get the credit and so will the poster).
