I used a 5 foot one to view a seeping oil leak on the top of my GM 5.7 (?) near the firewall without taking lots of junk off the top of the engine. Gasket sets would cost >$ 150 alone w/o labor so I just add oil once a week.
I also bought a 30 ft one to find where the oak tree roots are crushing my sewer pipe (I think) but that'll require much more labor to feed it from under the sink towards the street sewer line.
I didn't study the one from Woot but they can be found much cheaper elsewhere with varying quality. So much cheaper that I even bought a third 5 ft one to give to my mechanic for his trouble finding my leak.
