So last week I got that Dash Rapid Egg Cooker deal ($17) for my office kitchen and today I tried it. The eggs came out perfectly but the alarm was horrendous. Everyone on my floor instantly panicked because they thought a fire alarm was going off or something. It's just not going to work out here. I don't know why they needed such an ear-splitting alarm on it when it already shuts off automatically so it's not like it'll overheat or explode or something.

I went to return that and find another egg cooker without such a loud alarm. Lo and behold, I found this one, which looks and works exactly the same, but has no alarm and is a few dollars cheaper.

If you got the previous deal on the Dash egg cooker, you may want to consider returning that for this if you too are in a situation where a loud alarm is not preferable. If you're worried about forgetting about it, just sent a 10 minute alarm on your phone or something and retrieve the eggs when that time runs up, since the cooker will shut off by itself anyway.

if you dont take the eggs out after they are done and run them under cold water, you will end up over cooking the egg, and end up with green yolks, and more problems..

I have this one. It makes a little clicking noise when it turns off. That usually tells me when my eggs are done. I didn't realize when I purchased this one from Kohl's at about the same price that it didn't have an alarm of some kind.
