I have the 14 power set, which retail for around $999. I think I found my pair for around $800 from a small online discounter. Absolutely fantastic for long-distance bird-watching. I find the image stabilization to be slightly more effective than on my 10 power Canon IS binocs.
Compared to these 12 power fujinons, the 14 power is somewhat better balanced—— the 12 power has a bulky exterior battery holder on the hand strap, whereas the 14 has an internal battery compartment (appears that the upcoming new 12 power model does away with the battery pack). Also for those who might care about this sort of thing, supposedly the 12 power is made in China, while the 14 is from Japan.
