amazon subscribe and save cancellation WARNING

So I was cancelling some subscriptions I didn't need/want, and were only one-off purchases.

All of them were the same as usual, hit the cancel button, onto the next. Except when I got to the baby diapers in my future orders.

THIS popped up:

Did you know you can edit your subscription and maintain your current discount?
If you'd like to change your size or modify your subscription and maintain your discount, click on "Edit Subscription" below.
If you cancel, you may not be eligible for the same discount you're getting today on future diaper subscriptions.

Is this something new they are doing? Everyone else getting this? Or is it because I cancel frequently for different sizes, ect.

I think it's just them saying you might not get the same deal as you've done before, the price might increase.

i dont think so, because the price changes all the time without doing anything for subscribed items, and they just notify you by email.

i think its a warning that they will penalize people for buying with S&S for the discount, then cancelling subscription.

but i guess we will see. it is only on diapers, probably because diapers get a special 20% off (vs 15%) as part of the old "amazon mom" program

I get this all the time. Nothing to worry about. I buy diapers via subscribe and save and usually cancel after the first subscription delivers after a week or so because prices tends to go up and down and I don't want to have to cancel last minute if it went up a lot. Cancelling a subscription way before the delivery occurs won't affect Amazon because they haven't been entered on the shipping stage so aren't losing any money if you cancel the subscription ahead of time.

If the price remained the same, then there would be no need to cancel the subscriptions.

There are some items that received a 15% discount, and now receive only a 5% discount. If you cancel the subscription, you will lose the 15% discount. However, if you select "skip your next delivery", you will continue to receive the 15% discount.

Off the top of my head, the S&S discount was changed on my pet food orders.
