This is a rebranded Hikvision doorbell

There are several brand re-badging this Hikvision doorbell. Nelly Security, RCA, LaView, LTS in addition to Uniden just to name a few see below for the one i'm aware of:

Nelly Security NSC-DB1 (comes with 32gb SDcard)
https://www.nellyssecurity.com/ns...-1129.html

LTS LTK6128W (I think you need to go through a distributor/installer for LTS)
https://www.a1securitycameras.com...amera.html

LaView LV-PDB1520F1 (16gb SDcard)
https://www.laviewsecurity.com/vi...amera.html

RCA HS-DB1 (16gb SDcard)
https://www.amazon.com/RCA-Doorbe...077KW2T1H/

Uniden DB1 (8gb SDcard)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075V9ZKTY

ClareControl (16gb, through dealers)
http://dealer.clarecontrols.com/p...-doorbell/

Hikvision DS-KB6003-WIP (also a KB6013, not sure the diff, get these through ali express)
http://www.hikvision.com/en/Produ...i6482.html

Power by existing doorbell wiring 16-24v, no need to periodically swap/charge battery.

Pro
Can record 24/7 to Local security NVR via ONVIF/RTSP
No monthly subscription fee unlike Ring but still have 2 way talk
Pretty good image quality and daytime performance
Firmware between different brand are interchangable/flashable as of time of this post
Multiple faceplate color option to choose from
IR LED are 940nm, no red IR LED visible when operating in IR mode at night

Con
Firmware still a bit immature.
Nighttime IR image has some glare/reflection (cleaning the Dome lens properly help quite a bit but does not totally eliminate the glare) see IPcamtalk thread for examples
2-way video calling currently comes through as "Media" volume on app and not as a "Call/Ringer" (ie phone on mute = no ring/vibration/notification) hoping Hikvision will update this eventually

I was just looking into these yesterday. Sucks I'd need to re-wire the door bell. No clue how the hell I'd snake a new cable to the new doorbell without destroying sheet rock or something Frown

unless you need one now, just hold off till you can get it for around 90 or less

If you have an existing mechanical chime doorbell, you will be reusing the existing wiring and chime to power the doorbell as long as its supply 16-24v and 1amp

Hi illtww,

It should, and as they are both LaVIew / Hikvision OEM they should pair up well.

Just need to ensure that you have good wifi out to the frontdoor area.

you are correct, however this is Amazon prime for fairly hazzle free return. Also LaView will provide better support/service than RCA. This may matter to some folks
I actually own the RCA version brough off ebay

Good point. I like that the rca has no branding on it though. Wonder if the LaView logo can be removed?

If your doorbell is wired already, there is not likely anything you will have to rewire. Basically all doorbells are 120 v stepped down by a transformer to 10 or 20 v or so. What makes you think you would need to rewire anything?

Agree about it being Amazon. Hard to argue when fulfilled by Amazon

About Laview ... eh, I dont know. They aren't very quick to update firmware as Hikvision releases them, so I dont know how much support they'd provide other than "wait for Hikvision" for stuff. To be fair, I haven't been following the ipcamtalk thread on this. Is Laview actively working with customers to address issues or has everyone simply gone the hikvision firmware route to get the latest fixes/features?

Wonder if anyone has tried. I would guess if its printed on some acetone or alcohol would work

you maybe able to get some RCA owner to sell/ship you their spare face plates.

I just noticed this LaView only has 3 face plates vs the RCA 4... its missing the white plates
