Tried it on my Walmart account (my last purchase was on May 2017, but account created years ago), and the code worked for me. I never signed up for their marketing e-mails either.

Had that happen to me some time ago. I called and they fixed it. They said my account got auto-flagged by the system for placing a lot of high value orders in a short time and was flagged to cancel all orders to protect me. Phone rep had verify it was me placing orders and they pushed a flag removal to tier 2 which takes up to an hour. I waited over an hour and placed the orders again and had no issues since. Why would you guys abandon the account instead of make a phone call?
