www.mydigitaldiscount.com[mydigitaldiscount.com] lowered prices on their Zigbee sensors again. I have a bunch of the door/windows that work great, are low profile and include temps. I just ordered a couple lamp dimmers since they have repeater functionality.

Ordered motion sensor last week arrived. Same price since months 14.99$. It is technically good works with smart things but very bulky. Looking at rugged design and 4 aa batteries i though it could be a outdoor sensor but i was wrong. Its almost 2 or 3 time size and weight of ST motion. It works fine, if you follow process as shown before it arrived to u.
Do the motion sensors act as repeaters or are only the plugs repeaters of the zigbee signal? I have lots of zwave but almost no zigbee. Want to put the window sensors on all the downstairs windows since they are cheap, but don't want to have to buy several of the plugs for no reason just to make sure I have a good mesh with the sensors at the other end of the house.
I have the Bosch and its been rock solid for a while now. I bought on 10/3 and still showing 100% on battery with hallway usage. I believe the device handler is native in SmartThings now and you dont need the custom one on their site.
The big azz honking motion detector is pretty useless, other than security purposes, assuming the stupid ST platform is actually up and running normally, without being degraded.
The recycle time on this is like 3 minutes, I couldn't use it for lighting automation. I used the iris sensors, much faster and like 80% smaller, with amazing battery life. This sensor is going to cost you 10 bucks in alkalines for every battery change.
almost forgot, the door sensors are a fantastic buy, I bought like 8 and only got 1 bad one that eats batteries like mad, even tho it's 12 feet from hub, the one across from it is still going strong, the bad one ate like 6 batteries.

It's my understanding that generally battery based devices (zigbee or zwave) are not repeaters. Anything that plugs in generally do have repeater capabilities.
