Obviously, this is not the case for me, I used it twice on the same account, total discount capped at $100. I call bullshit on that...
Its single usage per account
Theorys as to why eBay did this very rare 20% off nearly any item from any seller up top $100:.
1. eBay is using their recent corp. tax reduction from 35% to 21% to fuel sales on their site. Basically giving any user a one time $100 or less bonus money to buy stuff.
2. eBay is trying to drive more people to come back to eBay and think about them as a option to check prices like they do with amazon.
3. eBay is tring to reward sellers and make sellers want to sell even more stuff on their site because a spike in sales motivates sellers to do even more listing/selling with them vs. other sites or avenues.
4. A mistake? (I doubt it, went all day long)
5. ebay need to meet investor expectation on sales numbers. Maybe it has not been going well, and this 20% discount will push it over the line. (Just a guess....)
