I purchased these last time they went on sale. Overall I'm pretty impressed with them. The mobile app video quality is awful though and since the cameras have this weird refresh thing every few seconds, it trips the motion detection on them spamming my email. Other than that the cameras were pretty nice quality when viewed in IE on my desktop. The included cables were 100 foot and worked fine for the install.

Hi LovelyMint,

If you want reliability you want to go wired, especially if you own the home / house /building.

I would only go battery ( aka wirefree ) if you are forced not to install a wired system due to being a renter. ( the Lorex wirefree one got decent reviews by some SD folks here who picked up one )

I saw this deal last time...was hesitant but decided to pull the trigger today. I'm upgrading an analog NightOwl system that has worked well for me but it has some issues.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a couple decent dome cameras?

Also what type of HDD's are recommended? I have a few 3TB WD green drives lying around.

I don't think so. There's an example of it on YouTube though if you're curious.

Your green drives should work but purple are the recommended ones.

My mobile quality is great are you using laview net app? Have not experienced the refresh problem. Motion detection is an issue especially with high quality cameras I get dust, rain, snow all picked up on motion even leaves. Changing sensitivity doesn't help I just turned notifications off. There are seperate camera settings for your substreams which are mobile that need configured for the best quality.

Anyone know if this uses H.265? The specs don't say anything and you can't find the NVR on LaView's site.
