When do you think the cheapest these will be? And at what price?
Deciding on if I should go used or wait till the price drops to the lowest point on a new one.

HTC has always been bullish on price - the last winter sale ($50 steam giftcard and Deluxe Audio Strap) was the best deal apart from this price drop.

The used market can be kind of iffy - I've seldom seen any in my area below $450-500 - though that may change once people realize the MSRP has dropped.

That said - don't expect this to go down any time soon. (However, Oculus may respond with another planned or impromptu sale on the $399 Oculus Rift sometime in the next few weeks/months.)

Pretty neat. It got me thinking though, if you have a physical disability you're still kinda out of luck. Somewhat ironically. Due to cerebral palsy I don't have full articulation in my left wrist/hand so I couldn't really manage the controllers. Same reason I skipped the Wii. I can use a regular controller or a mouse and keyboard, but I can't hold separated wiimote like stuff. Fingers crossed that they just invent VR implants someday.

You can use the HMD with your own controllers. Can you use an XBOX controller?

You can use the HMD with your own controllers. The Oculus comes with a XBone controller.

There are titles that don't use the touch controllers at all. Lucky's Tale for the Oculus is free with the hardware. I also hear Chronos is pretty good.

I think it was on Engadget that I read that HTC and Oculus are officially going after two different markets entirely with VR, so they won't really compete with each other. Oculus is sticking with the "affordable" VR headset and HTC is clearly the "ultimate experience" offering. For now, of course other companies can still create competition.

I'd never put something on my head/face that are used by other people that I don't know. Especially an oculus/vive where you're constantly moving causing you to sweat. But hey, it's your body.
